Royal Thai Air Force Jas-39 Gripen crashed during a public display today
I express my condolenses to the Royal Thai Air Force pilot who crashed a few hours ago, today, as he was displaying a Saab Jas-39 Gripen in front of a young audience, in Thailand. The show was especially organised for children, and in this case, the event was even more tragic. The pilot did not survive, as confirmed by Major General Kongcheep Tantravanich. An investigation will be conducted. The Gripen was reported being seen "nose diving " and plunging into the ground.
Pilot was Group Captain Dilakrit Pattavi. Blues Skies.
Saab Jas-39 Gripen is a single engine 4th Generation combat aircraft operated by the Air Forces of Sweden, Czech Pepublic, Hungary, South Africa, and Thailand. It's worth noticing that all users have their own Gripen Solo Display show. Thai Air Force Gripen solo display was also to take part to Lima 17 Langkawi.
