Royal International Air Tattoo posters designed with a ' Stanley Kubrick ' style.
Good News is that the Royal International Air Tattoo airshow team has once more chosen a famous artist to upgrade its posters style and " image de marque ". Organisers of RIAT 2009 have unveiled their poster image for the 2009 show, designed for the third year running by renowned artist Philip Castle. Philip, who designed iconic posters for the films A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket and The Boyfriend, created the distinctive airbrush poster images for the airshow, which will take place at RAF Fairford on July 18th and 19th 2009.
The finished poster features examples of NATO airpower past and present including the RAF Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, USAF F-22 Raptor, F-16 Viper and the F-86 Sabre. You can see it on www.airtattoo.com/airshow
Philip explained : ' I’ve been an aeroplane enthusiast all my life – the interest came from my father’s tales of being in the RAF during the war – and I’ve been to just about every Air Tattoo since its first days at Greenham Common. I always felt that designing the artwork would be an interesting job so I’m delighted that it’s come around: it’s nice to finish each project and hear people’s comments, but the best part is getting the job, with a new brief and a new challenge '.
' We’re delighted that Philip has once again designed some stunning artwork for the airshow, presenting state-of-the-art technology in a distinctive and striking manner, and reflecting all of the excitement of the Air Tattoo ' , declared Tim Prince, Director of the Air Tattoo.
