MAKS 2009. A short preview before the Russian Knights crash 02/08/2009

Colours..., Flares  '' ''  '  and  Blasts !

MAKS 2009 - Moscow International Aviation & Space Salon 2009 - Preview .

MAKS 2009 Airshow, at Moscow Zhukovskii airfield will be opening its doors in three weeks.
Sky-lens'Aviation' will report from the MAKS 2009 international airshow with features on all aerobatic teams and formations taking part.

The participation will include the Russian Knights and Strizhi national teams from Kubinka Air Base, and also the newest Sokoly Rossii (Russian Falcons) team from Lipetsk Air Base. Sokoly Rossii are to conduct air combat demonstrations, and according to MAKS officials they may fly no less than 11 jet fighters, such as MiG-29, Su-27s, and Su-24s. MAKS airshow is world renowed for the russian military teams displaying heavy twin-jet fighters - such as Su-27s and MiG-29s - with flares, as only the Russian air force does.

Foreign participation is very promising as well, with the French Air Force sending its Patrouille de France and Rafale solo display. Having appeared to Yeovilton and Fairford, The Frecce Tricolori from Italy will perform at MAKS their third and last international appearance out from Italy during this 2009 european airshow season.
